Andrea Papadia, M.D., Ph.D.
Andrea Papadia was born in Genova on April 30th, 1974. He graduated summa cum laude from the Università degli Studi di Genova, Medical School in 1999. He then graduated summa cum laude from the residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Università degli Studi di Genova in 2003. He then obtained a PhD title in biology and pathophysiology of ageing in and graduated from an ACGME certified Gynecologic Oncology clinical fellowship at the University of Miami in 2011. During his fellowship at the University of Miami, he cooperated on several research project conducted in the laboratory of the Nobel Prize Laureate Dr Andrew V Schally at the Veterans’ Affair Hospital – University of Miami.
He has worked as Assistant Professor in Gynecology at the Università degli Studi di Genova, as consultant at the Department of Gynecologic Oncology at the Istituto Nazionale Tumori in Milan Italy and as vice-director of the Department of Gynecology at the Inselspital, University Hospital of Bern and Bern University where he covered the academic position of Privatdozen. He is currently Professor and Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale, Ospedale Regionale di Lugano, Universita’della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, Switzerland.
His research interest covers various themes of gynecologic oncology with specific interest in the field of sentinel lymph node mapping in uterine cancers and fluorescence guided surgery.
